The VanillaPOS Settings screen gives you access to key configuration options for your terminal, from device pairing to store info, tipping, taxes, and more, and can be accessed by pressing the gear icon (located in the upper right hand corner of the home screen on tablets, and in the lower left on mobile and S700 devices).
Screen Sections & Features
Header Information
Company Name: Displays your registered company.
Store ID: A unique identifier used to track and manage your store in the system.
Software Version: Shown in the top right (e.g., Version 1.0).
Access > Log Out: Use this to securely log out of the current session.
Devices
Manage your Tap to Pay settings & connected devices:
Enable Tap to Pay on iPhone
This option can be enabled by pressing the toggle button. When enabled, the circle within the toggle will turn bright blue.
Discover Reader and Printer
Pressing this icon / text will allow your device to search for nearby compatible bluetooth devices.
Device List
A complete list of devices that are available via bluetooth connection. Includes device name and model (e.g., Epson Mobilink TM-P30II).
Devices that are connected are shown with a green check to the left of the device information, as well as a 'DISCONNECT' button to the right.
To disconnect a device that is connected, press the 'DISCONNECT' button
Devices that are disconnected are shown with a red 'X' to the left of the device information, as well as a 'CONNECT' button to the right.
To connect a device that is connected, press the 'CONNECT' button
Please Note: when Tap to Pay is enabled, a connected device titled 'Tap to Pay' will display in this section
Transactions
Features that affect customer payments and their status.
Enable Tipping: When enabled, tips can be added to transactions
Service Fee: Adds an optional service fee to transactions. Both options are shown as “Disabled” by default unless configured.
These settings are set at the organization level and are not editable on devices
Location Details
Location specific information:
Store Name: Displays the registered name of the store.
Store Address: Your physical business location.
Account Owner Email: The main contact for the store account (used for system updates or notifications).
Default Tax Rate: The system-wide tax rate applied to all transactions unless overridden.
Custom Tax Rate: A manual override rate (shown in blue) that replaces the default when the 'Override' toggle is on.
