The Organization Accounts area is where you can view, manage, and add all accounts within your organization, providing a centralized place to manage different Stripe accounts and structures across a single organization.

Supported account types

Vanilla supports three account types in the Organization Accounts area:

  • Stripe Connect platform account

  • Stripe Connect connected account

  • Standalone Stripe account

This setup is useful for organizations that manage multiple businesses, locations, or account structures under one umbrella.

What you can do from Organization Accounts

From the Organization Accounts area, Organization Admins can:

  • View account information

  • Enable product catalogs

  • Add new accounts

  • Edit existing accounts

  • Manage products and subscriptions

  • Manage discounts

  • Manage stores

  • Configure account restrictions

  • Review and update an account’s Business Settings

  • Review and update an account’s Brand Settings

  • Open an account directly in Stripe

Select an account from the account list to view its details and available management tabs.

Adding a new account

You can add any of the supported account types directly from the Organization Accounts area.

Add a Stripe Connect platform account

Choose this option when you need to create a Stripe Connect platform account under your organization.

When adding a platform account, you will provide:

  • Support email

  • Stripe account ID

  • Stripe public key

  • Stripe private key

  • Tipping setting

  • Connect onboarding type

  • Company name

  • Optional business URL

Please note: Vanilla supports both Express and Standard Stripe Connect onboarding when adding a platform account.

Add a standalone Stripe account

Choose this option when you need to add a Stripe account that operates independently and is not part of a Stripe Connect platform structure.

When adding a standalone Stripe account, you will provide:

  • Support email

  • Stripe account ID

  • Stripe public key

  • Stripe private key

  • Tipping setting

  • Company name

  • Optional business URL

Add a connected account

Choose this option when you need to add a Stripe Connect connected account under an existing platform account.

To begin adding a connected account, you will provide:

  • Company name

  • Business URL

Connected accounts also require additional administrator details as part of setup, including:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email address

  • Phone number

Please note: Connected accounts require additional onboarding steps beyond the initial account setup.

Important requirement for connected accounts

A connected account must belong to a Stripe Connect platform account that already exists in your Vanilla organization.

This means the platform account must be added first before connected accounts can be created.

Managing an Account

When you select an account, additional tabs are available for managing that account.

Account Information

View and update information associated with the selected account.

Account Restrictions

Account Restrictions allow an Organization Admin to control which product-management actions can be performed by users working within the account.

Depending on the organization’s configuration, restrictions may include:

  • Allow creation of products

  • Allow duplication of products

  • Allow creation of subscriptions

  • Allow creation of discounts

Disabling an action removes that capability from the selected account. Organization Admins can continue managing organization-controlled content from the organization level.

Please Note: Account Restrictions control account-level actions. They are separate from user roles and individual user permissions.

Business Settings

The Business Settings tab allows an Organization Admin to review and manage the selected account’s business configuration without switching into the account.

Brand Settings

The Brand Settings tab allows an Organization Admin to review and manage the selected account’s brand configuration without switching into the account.

Summary

The Organization Accounts area provides a single place to manage multiple Stripe accounts and account types within Vanilla.

Whether your organization uses a Stripe Connect platform model, connected accounts, or standalone Stripe accounts, this page makes it easier to manage account setup, related configuration, and direct access to Stripe.
