Creating a subscription product in VanillaPOS allows you to offer recurring billing for services or goods, such as memberships or box deliveries.
Follow the steps below to create your subscription product:
1. Navigate to the Products Tab
From the left-hand sidebar, click on Products.
Click Create Subscription (or similar option depending on your interface version).
2. Enter Basic Product Details
In the pop-up modal:
Thumbnail/Image (optional): Upload a visual for your subscription.
Product Name: Enter a name for your subscription product.
Description (optional): Add a brief description for internal or customer reference.
Product Type: Choose whether it’s a Good or a Service.
3. Set Pricing
Price: Base price of the subscription.
Sale Price (optional): Overrides the base price if provided.
Taxable: Toggle this ON if taxes should apply.
Variable Price (optional):
Enable this if pricing varies per sale.
Set a Minimum Price and/or Maximum Price, if needed.
4. Configure Subscription Billing
Billing Frequency: Choose how often the subscription should be billed:
Weekly
Monthly
Every 3 months (Quarterly)
Yearly
Start Date (Billing Anchor):
Select a specific day (e.g., 1st of the month).
Or check Start Immediately to bill upon purchase.
5. Set Duration & Renewal
Subscription Duration:
Define how long the subscription should run (e.g., 12 months).
The duration aligns with your selected billing frequency.
Auto-Renewal:
Enable if the subscription should renew indefinitely until cancelled.
6. Manage Availability
Inventory Count:
Specify how many subscriptions are available.
Or check Infinite Availability for no limit.
7. Assign Tax Code & UPC (Optional)
Tax Code: If required for financial reporting.
UPC Code:
Auto-generate a UPC code.
Use this to print scannable barcodes for retail environments.
8. Save the Subscription
Once all fields are filled out, click Create or Save to publish the subscription product.
The subscription is now available for purchase via your terminal.
