Overview

Once a store/location has been created, you can register a device and assign it to that store. Learn how to add a store/location here

This process is used for supported payment devices such as Stripe Terminal hardware (for example the S700).

Step 1 - Open the store

From the VPOS dashboard:

  1. Navigate to Stores

  2. Select the store where the device will be used

Step 2 - Register the device

Inside the store, select Register Device. You will be asked to provide a label for the device. Examples include:

  • Front Desk

  • Counter 1

  • Lobby Terminal

  • Checkout

This label helps identify the device later in the dashboard.

Step 3 - Complete setup on the device

Follow the setup instructions on the physical device.

This typically includes:

  • Connecting the device to the network

  • Launching the payment application

  • Starting the registration process

Please Note: Some devices may require entering a registration code during setup.

Step 4 - Confirm the device in VPOS

After setup is complete, return to the VPOS dashboard and open the Devices page.

Your device should appear in the list.

Device status updates may take a few minutes to appear.

Device status meanings

Online

The device is connected and ready to process payments.

Offline

The device is currently not connected. This can happen if the device is powered off or not actively running the payment application.

Unknown

This status indicates that the device data may not be synchronized properly. If you see this status, contact support.

Device information shown in VPOS

Depending on the device type, the Devices page may display:

  • Device name

  • Store location

  • Device type

  • Device status

  • Last activity time

  • IP address (for supported hardware)

  • Software version (for supported hardware)
