Overview
Once a Store has been created, you can register a device and assign it to that store. Learn how to add a Store here
This process is used for supported payment devices such as Stripe Terminal hardware (for example the S700 and S710).
Step 1 - Set up your device
Before registering a device to your Store, complete the following steps on the device itself:
Ensure the device is sufficiently charged
Connect the device to a network & install any updates available. At this point the payment application will launch automatically.
When prompted for an admin passcode, enter the following code: 07139
On the next screen you will be provided with a pairing code - copy this code as you will need it when registering the device to your Store in the Vanilla dashboard.
Step 2 - Register the device to a Store
From the VPOS dashboard:
Navigate to Stores
Select the Store where the device will be used
Inside the Store, select Register Device.
Enter the pairing code that you received on your device
You can also provide a label for the device (this step is optional) - this label helps identify the device later in the dashboard. Examples include:
Front Desk
Counter 1
Lobby Terminal
Checkout
Press 'Register Device'. Your device should now show in the Devices section of your Store page.
Step 3 - Complete device setup and Store sync
Your device will now begin to sync with your Store.
This includes checking for network connection and performing any software updates.
Once updates have been installed, the payment application will launch. Log in using your credentials and you are ready to use VanillaPOS on your device.
