How to Set Up a Mobile Device for VanillaPOS

Step-by-step guide for setting up a mobile device to work with Vanilla

Overview

VanillaPOS can also run on supported mobile devices such as phones or tablets. Mobile devices use a slightly different setup process than dedicated payment hardware.


Step 1 - Install the VPOS application

Download and install the VanillaPOS application on your mobile device. The application is available from both the Apple App Store (for iOS devices) and Google Play Store (for Android devices)


Step 2 - Open the application

Launch the VanillaPOS application on your device.

You will be prompted to begin the device setup process.


Step 3 - Enter your store information

During setup, you will be asked to enter the store address where the device will be used. Make sure the address matches a location that already exists in your VPOS dashboard.

Step 4 - Complete device setup

Once the store information is entered, follow the remaining prompts to finish device setup.

After setup is complete, the device will begin syncing with your Vanilla account.


Device status behavior

Mobile devices may appear as offline when the application is not actively running. This is normal and does not necessarily indicate a problem.
